CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACT ON HEALTH: A Research survey was conducted in August 2023 on Malaria in the southern region Bo city Njabioma community showed clear evidence that our patients are facing adverse health effects associated with climate change. From heat-related injuries and forest fire air pollution to worsening seasonal allergies and storm-related illness and injuries, it is important that we make every effort to put environmentally friendly practices in place to lessen the harmful impact that climate change is having on patient health across Sierra Leone.

Purpose and Objectives of The Survey
Primary Objective: To reduce malaria transmission and its associated morbidity and mortality among vulnerable populations by getting funds from INGOS to conduct more research or to distribute long-lasting insecticidal nets and also conducting advocacy campaigns across Sierra Leone.
Climate change impact on health: Climate change is a significant global concern that has far-reaching implications for human health in Sierra Leone. One of the key areas affected is the transmission and prevalence of infectious diseases, including malaria. This report presents the findings of a research survey conducted to examine the impact of climate change on malaria and its implications for public health.
Climate change influences the transmission of malaria: Changes in temperature, humidity, rainfall, and other climatic conditions have an impact on important factors that dictate the transmission of malaria, such as the lifespan of the mosquito and the development of malaria parasites in the insect.
The survey aimed to understand the relationship between climate variables and the spread of malaria and highlight the importance of proactive measures to combat the growing health risks posed by this vector-borne disease.
